WESTERN "GATEWAY" AREA

A majority of the large parcels in this area are owned by a small number of land owners.

Plat map showing ownership of land

According to the proposed plan, preferred land use for this area is commercial with an special emphasis on development that is                 "supportive" of Aileron. The "support" is further articulated in Area 2, Wildcat. Many people question the wisdom of the township catering to the needs of one particular company, especially at the expense of township residents and their way of life

Rough sketch of affected area.  Note the US 40 "corridor"  highlighted in pink. Then look at the  outer boundaries of Area 1. From that one might conclude that statements indicating that  the proposed Development Plan is limited to the "40 Corridor" does not seem to be the case. Also, a gateway is an entrance. Where does this entrance lead? Especially north of 40?

Pages 21-23 of the proposed Development Plan

The proposed Development Plan calls for implementation of the 2004 Township Access Management Plan. Accordingly, in order to make an informed decision regarding the Development Plan for the southern portion of the township, particularly the southwestern portion, one should have a good understanding of the content of the Access Plan.
